Job Services is generally the first activity for new CalWORKs Welfare-To-Work participants. It is a four-week program designed to provide the participant with training to learn basic job seeking and interviewing skills, understand employer expectations, create a résumé based on work history, experience and personal strengths, and to enhance the participant’s ability to move toward self-sufficiency through employment income.
Job Services also provides job search assistance through an employment counselor, access to on-line (computer) job search services, and referrals to potential employers that match the participant’s skills.
