Foster youth who remain in foster care after their 16th birthdays may be eligible for Chafee Post-Secondary Education and Training Vouchers (ETV) to reimburse academic or vocational expenses up to $5,000.00 per school year. A growing number of universities and vocational training centers now offer the Advanced Studies Scholarship Fund to emancipated foster youth. Eligible emancipated foster youth are encouraged to contact the financial aid offices at the universities they wish to attend for more information on the Advanced Studies Scholarship Fund at those institutions.
