California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids (CalWORKs)
CalWORKs provides cash-aid and services to eligible families to help pay for housing, food and other necessary expenses. CalWORKs recipients receive Medi-Cal benefits. Shelter assistance may be available for CalWORKs families who are homeless. CalWORKs Supportive Services currently include childcare and transportation. Specialized services are available for families that may require mental health services, domestic abuse services, or other critical services. CalWORKs applicants may also apply for CalFresh (formerly known as Food Stamps) with their CalWORKs applications.

Please call the 24-hour Child Abuse Registry at 714-940-1000 or 1-800-207-4464 if you are aware of any of the following circumstances:
Any instances or suspected instances of sexual abuse, physical abuse, neglect or exploitation of a child age 0 -17.
Any homeless or abandoned children.
Any child who may be living with a relative or unrelated caregiver who is unable to provide for the needs of the child, or cannot secure medical consent from the child's parent(s) to obtain needed medical treatment for the child.

Adults Protective Services (APS) and In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS)
Please call the 24-hour Elder/Disabled Adult Abuse Hotline at 1-800-451-5155 if you are aware or or reasonably suspect physical abuse, neglect, financial abuse, or exploitation of adults who are unable to protect their own interests, including adults with disabilities. Reports received by the APS Registry are referred to social workers for direct investigation and intervention.
Aged, blind, or disabled persons may be eligible for IHSS if they are limited in their ability to care for themselves and cannot live safely at home without help. Please call 714-825-3000 to apply or for more information.
